What Is Sodium Dehydroacetate?

Sodium Dehydroacetate is the sodium salt of dehydroacetic acid. Characteristics include being a white or off- white crystalline powder, odor-less and easy soluble in water. This compound is classified as a pyrone derivative and is used mostly as a fungicide and bactericide. Industrially, it is also used as a plasticizer in synthetic resins. It is used to reduce pickle bloating as a preservative for squash and strawberries.

Possible Side Effects of Sodium Dehydroacetate

Although Lactic Acid generally regarded as a very safe and effective supplement, there can be some minor side effects. Possible side effects: Burning; dry skin; flushing; irritation; itching; rash; stinging.
