High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is a corn sweetener, used in drinks, soft drinks, fruit juice, cakes and pastries. Fructose-glucose syrup, also known as high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), is a starch syrup made from plant starch through hydrolysis and isomerization (and purification). With unique flavor, it is an important sweetening agent. Since its main ingredient is fructose and glucose, it is called “fructose-glucose syrup”.

According to fructose content, fructose-glucose syrup is divided into three specifications, F42, F55 and F90, among which F55 is the most frequently-used one and F42 is the second frequently-used one. It can replace cane sugar; its sweetness is close to cane sugar with the same concentration, while its flavor is similar to natural juice—with faint scent and refreshing taste. It owns cold sweet feature under 40℃, and its sweetness rises as the temperature drops. As a result, it has been widely used in food and beverage industry.
